Mission STS-92 was the 100th launch of a Space Shuttle. After several schedule changes, the Discovery was planned to take off on October 11 at last. Some of us were waiting at the crowded Banana River Bridge of State Route 528 near the town of Cape Canaveral, 13 km away from Launch Pad 39A. Others were watching from an even closer site or from an Arrow circling near Titusville. However, some students could only see the launch from Vero Beach or on TV.
